Charles Clinic is one of Australia’s fastest growing cardiology practices. This high-quality service currently employs 4 full-time and 6 visiting cardiologists. Our staff includes 7 cardiac sonographers (Queensland University of Technology trained), 2 trainees. We provide high quality clinical services utilising innovative, highly integrated, state of the art equipment. We have access to a new coronary angiography lab, 320 slice CT scanner and MRI. We have an extensive, nationally recognised, regional outreach service. Our modern, purpose-built rooms provide a professional, harmonious and supportive working environment, with facilities for telemedicine and leading practice software integration and data management.

The successful applicant will join a passionate and dynamic team who are committed to improving the cardiac health outcomes.

We are seeking an imaging cardiologist. Completion of a fellowship in echocardiography or multi-imaging specialty is essential. Expertise in transthoracic echo is essential and skills in stress echo, contrast and 3D echo, paediatric echo, congenital echo or other imaging modalities would be highly valued. Applicants must be eligible for a Medicare provider number. High level interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of working harmoniously and collaboratively in a team environment are essential prerequisites for this role.

Location: Launceston, Tasmania


Charles Clinic is the largest private cardiology service in Tasmania and is seeking a cardiologist to join our dedicated team. We provide a full range of high-quality cardiology services to the north and north-west of Tasmania as well as a nationally recognised service to isolated communities.

The team at Charles Clinic currently consists of 12 full and part-time cardiologists. We have an outstanding technical department of 10 echo-sonographers and technicians operating state of the art Phillips imaging equipment.

We are looking for locum placements in 2021 to support our resident Cardiologists in the servicing of our patients in the North and North West of Tasmania.

Required Skills:

Applicants must be registered as a medical practitioner with AHPRA including specialist recognition as a cardiologist.


Charles Clinic will remunerate at the rate of $2000.00 per day + GST and provide accommodation and flights.

Charles Clinic is a large privately owned, rapidly expanding Cardiology/Specialist practice with Clinics in Launceston and Burnie.

We are seeking an exceptional individual with meticulous attention to detail to join our friendly and supportive Administration team in delivering a high standard of customer service.

The applicant will be required to manage referrals and incoming documentation, appointment scheduling, provide caring patient interaction and additional tasks as required.

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to show empathy, compassion and rapport with patients
